LIMA CITY CENTRE

The city of Lima was founded in 1538, since then, many earthquakes happen surviving some few buildings of the first years.
Major changes appear in 1870, 1920 and 1960, years of prosperity.
Since 1940 limenians start to leave their homes in the city to move to the new districts of San Isidro, Miraflores and Barranco, places that were used for second homes and summer houses.
In 1970 practically the city center is occupied by offices and commerce and few changes have been made since then, having this last 20 years intended to recover the architectural heritage.
