LIMA CITY CENTRE

The city of Lima was founded in 1538, since then, many earthquakes happen surviving some few buildings of the first years.
Major changes appear in 1870, 1920 and 1960, years of prosperity.
Since 1940 limenians start to leave their homes in the main city to move to the new districts of San Isidro, Miraflores and Barranco, places that were used years before for second homes and summer homestays.
In 1970 practically the city centre is occupied by offices and trading shops and few changes have been made since then, having these last 20 years intended to recover the architectural heritage.
