Huaycán de Cieneguilla is an Inca archaeological complex located in the lower valley of the Lurín River, near the city of Lima. This site stands out as one of the most important on the central coast, as it demonstrates how the Incas integrated the region into their vast network of roads and administrative centers. It functioned as a ceremonial and administrative hub, responsible for organizing agricultural production in the valley and facilitating exchange with neighboring valleys.
Surrounded by the natural landscapes of the Lurín Valley, Huaycán features architecture that reflects the connection between the coast and the highlands during the time of the Tahuantinsuyo, making it a key place to understand the expansion of the Inca Empire.
