Nasca and Paracas experience
Day 1 Desert & Reserve Landscapes Leave Lima at dawn and head straight to Paracas. Capture desert cliffs, shimmering lagoons, fishing boats, and maybe flamingos inside the Reserve. In the afternoon, settle in and chase golden light at Lagunillas viewpoint — or add adventure with dune buggies and oases near Paracas.
Day 2 Sunrise & Wildlife Start with sunrise at the striking Red Beach, then sail to the Ballestas Islands for seabirds, sea lions, and dramatic rock formations. Back, at noon, enjoy coastal leisure and lunch before continue to Palpa and Nasca starting 3pm. We´ll arrive around 7pm
Day 3 Nasca Lines We begin the day with a flight over the Nasca Lines (subject to flight schedules). Afterwards, we drive to the Cahuachi pyramids, located in the Nasca Valley.
For the last day, you can choose from several options:
Nature & Seascapes: Extend the trip with an afternoon visit to Marcona, enjoy sunset at the beach, and the next morning explore the San Fernando Reserve.
Wine Experience: Spend the night at a vineyard in Ica, relaxing with wine tastings and a visit to the farm before returning to Lima.
History & Culture: Stay an extra night in Nazca to explore more of the area, including sites such as Estaquería, the Aqueducts, or the Reiche and Antonini Museums.
Day 4 – Return to Lima Depending on the chosen activity or destination, we will depart and arrive back in Lima around 9:00 pm.
what kind of photos we MAY take?
Landscapes, some birds, people, sky, ancient ruins.
what lenses are best for this trip?
A wide angle for landscapes (under 24 mm).
A tele if you want to shoot birds or some action (200 mm +).
A macro if you like to shoot textures and any kind of details.
A zoom 24-70 / 24-105 / 35-150 mm good for multi use.
On sunny days a ND2 or polarized filter, and a ND16 or ND1000 if we are in a season of sunsets and you want to shoot some long exposure. Tripod recommended.
when is best?
The trip can be done for the whole year.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO BRING?
Basically in summer (Dec-Apr) you must use sunscreen and fresh clothes. Paracas temperatures are on average 24-32C and very sunny days.
During winter (Jul-Oct) long sleeves and a wind vest for temperatures of 16-18C on the day but mostly clear, at night temperature descends to under 15 C. In these months is common to have some days with very strong winds, reducing the options of shooting and avoiding the navigation. If that happens we must make some changes to itinerary. And is helpful to have a windvest.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This is a photo trip in natural and protected areas, we will make stops along the way to hike a bit to take a look around, is not more than 30 minutes each time. In case you are not able to walk too much please tell us to modify the original plan.
